My work is guided by a strong belief in design as a way of creating meaningful
experiences and exploring how imagination can lead to action. I believe that designers
have the power and skills to communicate with people, share knowledge, use visual
language to empower people's thoughts, and make informed decisions about the world around them. I enjoy working at the intersection of equity, inclusivity, environmental issues and children’s education by designing user- friendly services and using new
media platforms to grow an active voice with teams across sectors. Design can be used beyond the beautiful and commercial to make meaningful change.
I graduated in 2014 from Birmingham City University in UK with a Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery and Silversmithing. After my graduation, I moved to Shanghai and tried out a few different career paths, including graphic designer, design strategist and consultant, but ultimately I desire to employ design as a tool to inspire and propel innovative change encouraged me to move to NYC and study at Design for social Innovation.
Social Design is the application of design methodologies to solutions for complex problem. Design for Social Innovation at SVA is a MFA program with STEM certified. It is a rapidly growing field with exciting career opportunities. Global corporations use it to ignite creativity and commitment within their cultures, and they also use it to innovate new approaches, erase the boundaries of internal silos and step around archaic bureaucratic processes. Designers use it to create lives for themselves filled with purpose and impact.
I pride myself on my passion to learn new things. During my two years time at DSI, I have gained new experience in areas of data analysis, marketing and game design. I learned by myself to create videos.
I go by the nickname 'professional brain picker'. My insatiable curiosity in people and design comes through my experience. I have also explored more than 25 countries around the world. From Asia, most of European countries, Americas, North Africa and etc., I had the first-hand experience in sharing stories and cultures with various walks of life. My nomadic lives around the world has led me to become a system thinker with strengths in storytelling, synthesis and strategy. We see the world with our eyes, we change it with our hands.
